Insurance and Financial Policies

Insurance

Many Oral Surgery procedures are covered by medical or dental insurance; however, it depends on the procedure and your plan limitations. We make every effort to provide you with the finest surgical care and work hard to maximize your insurance reimbursement for covered procedures. Please provide all dental and medical insurance policies at your visit. Although we can accept most insurance plans, we are only contracted with the following insurances, we recommend that you contact your insurance company to determine any available coverage information and to confirm office participation.

If you have insurance, we will obtain an estimate of your benefits prior to scheduled procedures. This may require a consultation with the doctor performing the surgery for a pre-operative evaluation. The Treatment Coordinator will give you an estimate of coverage based on the benefits received from your insurance company. This estimate is not a guarantee of benefits, coverage, or payment. We collect the estimated patient portion on the date of service. Please reference our financial policy with regards to payment. All covered services are filed to your insurance as a courtesy. Any remaining balance after insurance processes will become patient responsibility. The amount your insurance allows for services rendered may be less than our office fees. Deductibles and co-insurance may attribute to receiving a statement after services are rendered and all claims have completed processing by your insurance.

If you have questions about your insurance claim, please call the office where your procedure is scheduled:
Greensboro: 336-275-6600
Asheboro: 336-318-1014

Financial Information

Important Note for Patients with Insurance

Please remember that you are fully responsible for all fees charged by this office regardless of your insurance coverage. Our Treatment Coordinators discuss the estimated cost of your surgery according to the benefits received from your insurance company and you are asked to pay your estimated portion the day of surgery.

The actual out of pocket cost could increase or decrease from the estimate you received after the claim has been paid. Most insurance companies will respond within four to six weeks after receiving an insurance claim. Any remaining balance after your insurance has paid is your responsibility.  We will issue you a statement reflecting that balance and your prompt remittance is appreciated.  Statements over 60 days old will be sent to collections, so please call immediately if you have questions.

If your account has a credit balance, we will issue you a refund.
