Digital Imaging

Our office uses a Cone Beam CT Scanner which produces 3D digital images. These imaging techniques obtain precise pictures of areas that cannot be seen so that our doctors can provide an accurate diagnosis and effective treatment plan. Digital X-rays use much less radiation than traditional film X-rays. They allow us to show patients images in close detail to discuss treatment plans with them. Our digital technology allow us to store patient images and quickly transfer them to a specialist, such as an orthodontist, or an insurance company if needed.

Your General Dentist may have taken full mouth x-rays during your visit to their office.  If you have recently had x-rays, you can bring them or have them sent to our office.  New imaging may be required depending on your procedure. Images are used to detect cavities in between your teeth, determine bone levels, examine roots and nerves, and diagnose cysts or tumors. Being able to view important features of the oral cavity also helps our surgeons determine where to place dental implants.
